Thomas Perle, born 1987 in socialist Romania, emigrated after the fall of communism with his family to Germany. He studied theatre, film and media science at the University of Vienna, graduated in 2015. During his studies he worked as assistant director at Schauspielhaus Wien.
In 2013 he won the Viennese exil – price for literature, more prices, fellowships and residencies followed.
In 2018 his first short story collection „wir gingen weil alle gingen.“ got published by edition exil.
In 2019 he won the Retzhofer Dramapreis for his play „karpatenflecken“, which will have its world premiere 2021 at Deutsches Theater Berlin and Burgtheater Wien.
In 2021 he was the SHARING FUTURE artist in residence by the International Elias Canetti Society at Ruse, Bulgaria. During his stay at the International Elias Canetti Society in Ruse, Bulgaria, Thomas Perle was invited also to visit Radar Sofia.
